NIGHT LIFE (WHEN THE REST OF MAUI GOES TO SLEEP):

Maui goes to bed very early. After nine there just isn’t much to do besides catch a late movie or head out for a few drinks.

Unlike Oahu, which has the tendency to rock all night long, we have only one club that is open until 4 in the morning, and then only on Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of them, even the best of them have last call at 1:30, and the lights come up by two.

So, if you’re planning a night of alcoholic obliteration, don’t wait until midnight to get started. And remember, on a week day, the only dancing until dawn that you’ll be doing is next to the mini bar in your hotel room.

On Maui, we have a few different type of night life options: The sports bar, Korean bar, theme bar, independent night club, resort clubs and bars, and “you’ve entered the twilight zone” hole-in-the-wall little hovels (sometimes the most fun).

Each offers something different in the form of entertainment and ambiance. For recommendations please see our Tiny Bubbles section. Also, check back with mauiqueen.com as we will soon be posting a weekly “night life” events guide.
