Is Michael Jackson Guilty or Innocent?
We want your opinion.
Written by: Marissa Candela http://thecelebritycafe.com
Jury selection is postponed due to a death in the family.
The second week of Michael Jackson's child molestation trial is already over. After nearly one hour in the courtroom, jury selection was delayed until February 14th due to a death in the family of Jackson's attorney, Thomas Meserau.
The pool of more than 250 potential jurors was told not to discuss the case nor follow it in the media. When jury selection resumes next week, lawyers from both sides will question each person individually and determine who will serve as the 12 jurors and eight alternates.
Also in today's hearing, Judge Rodney Melville agreed to release parts of prospective jurors answers to the seven-paged questionnaire filled out last week. They were asked about their history with cancer, if they had ever been accused of inappropriate behavior, and about their views on religion and race. Melville says he will remove sensitive information at the request of the jurors.
Jackson himself did not attend today's proceedings. He is charged with 10 counts of child molestation, including kidnapping and giving alcohol to a minor. If he is found guilty, Jackson could spend up to 20 years behind bars.

Letterman Pays Tribute to Johnny Carson
Written by: Jovie Baclayon http://thecelebritycafe.com
David Letterman honors the man who helped start his career
In his first television show since Johnny Carson's death last week, David Letterman paid a touching tribute to the man who inspired generations of comics and talk show hosts.
Letterman's opening monologue on Monday night contained jokes Carson had sent him in recent months. He was joined onstage by Carson's “Tonight Show” bandleader, Doc Severinsen, who led Letterman's band in playing one of Johnny's favorite tunes, "Here's That Rainy Day."
Letterman said everyone in the talk show business has modeled their show after the “Tonight Show.”
"The reason we're all doing Johnny's 'Tonight Show' is because you think, 'Well, if I do Johnny's "Tonight Show," maybe I'll be a little like Johnny and people will like me more,' " he said.
Letterman got his own talk show on NBC after appearing on the “Tonight Show.” He left for CBS when NBC chose Jay Leno to replace Carson when he retired in 1992.
"I owe everything in my professional career, whatever success attained, to Johnny Carson," Letterman said.
Carson died last week at his home in Malibu, California, at the age of 79 from emphysema.
