On a quiet street in Makawao, Maui Hawaii
On any given day, there is a continuous stream of people flowing through Filomena's home. They come with no appointments. They come bearing empty water containers. Some stay for hours, some for a moment, but each leaves with a heart full of hope and containers full of blessed water.
Filomena's pilgrimage to blessedness began under unlikely circumstances in 1985 in Bari, Italy. One evening while preparing dinner, she collapsed with a ruptured aneurysm. Her husband, Dr. Walter Dingle, rushed her to the local hospital, where she was pronounced brain-dead. Walter would not accept this! She was temporarily gone, but not lost. For the next few days, he took her from hospital to hospital, only to be told the same thing. Finally, he met a neurosurgeon who agreed to operate. The operation was a marginal success, as Filomena was to remain in a coma for the next forty days. Those forty days and forty nights became a baptismal fount of blessed water, from which flows to this day blessings for all who come to her. But she did not know it at the time.
Filomena recovered and life went on. One night three years later, she had a visitation from Mary, the Blessed Mother. Mary explained that she had been with Filomena those forty days and nights, and now she had a mission for her to “heal the children.” Filomena was taught a special prayer, and given specific instructions for the preparation of the healing water for her mission.
Since that night ten years ago, Mama Filomena has been healing the children with prayer and blessed water, and Mother Mary has been with her every night. She receives calls from all over the world, she reaches out in prayer to all who call, giving them simple instructions on how to prepare the blessed water, wherever they may live. Most prefer, however, to receive this blessing at the source. So they come with empty jugs to be filled from Mama Filomena's store of super-blessed water. There is no charge, at all! Her brother,Raffaele Vendola, is always beside her with a welcoming smile, a glass of water, and a kind word for all who come.
Contact Filomena for a list of Testimonials and phone numbers from those Healed.
There are no formalities, no appointments, no fees - just an abundance of love, hope and gratitude. Donations are accepted graciously. There are letters and testimonials to read, and there are phone calls all day long form the “children” who have been healed from diseases to which there are no known cures: Hepatitis C, Cancer, Alzheimer's, Tumors, AIDS...the list goes on. Is it the water, the prayers, the Blessed Mother, the hope, the faith or the love that heals? It is all of the above, and most of all, a willingness and commitment to love and heal ourselves.
Mama Filomena is a close personal friend whose Presence and Mission have touched me. Her mission to cure all supercedes medical technology. This is not an over night healing.

Lahaina: Aston Kaanapali Shores: "Average Resort"
I just came back from this hotel 6/7/04 and I have to say it is good only if you are on a budget. The room was a large 1-bedroom, garden view which was fine. It is also across the street from a supermarket which helped to stock the fridge with breakfast items & drinks. It also has a washer/dryer which was great. The hotel is very well kept and staff was very friendly. The $100 dining voucher was a nice throw-in, but it won't last very long.
So those were the good things, ok time for the bad. Our room had a roach problem, when we were leaving back home our carry on bag was checked because they said something was moving inside and out came 2 roaches. Not good. They charge $9 a day for parking which I think is ridiculous if you are a guest, but all the other hotels charged too so I wasn't too upset. The beach was the biggest disappointment. I am a big beach person when it comes to vacation and I never spent more than 20 minutes at their beach. The smell of seaweed was so strong. The length from the sand to the water was only about 10 feet. Then there were the big signs stating "WARNING - MAN-OF-WAR, JELLYFISH, RIPTIDES." That was enough for me. So every day we would drive to a different beach, I recommend driving down to the beach by the Sheraton which was by far the best beach. There were 2 pools at the hotel, but they were nothing special and very small. We would go next door to the Embassy who had an awesome pool with waterfalls & a slide.
If you are on a budget it's a good hotel to stay at, especially if you are going on a family vacation or with a big group because the units are fairly large. But if you are like me and you want fun in the sun with a great beach and pool, stay at one of the hotels near the sheraton & whalers village in Kanaapaali.
