Pot dealer gets six months in jail and probation
Peter J. Gilman, 24, was sentenced Friday to a six-month jail term for selling drugs at Baldwin Beach Park in Pa‘ia last year. Second Circuit Court Judge Joel August also placed Gilman on five years’ probation. Gilman will be permitted to serve the jail sentence on consecutive weekends beginning July 23 so he can continue working to support his pregnant wife. Gilman was arrested with nearly 200 grams of hashish and nearly 400 grams of marijuana in an undercover police operation. A 10-year prison term had been recommended. The prosecution agreed to a reduced charge of second-degree promotion of a harmful drug.
